It's a bit cramped in here.

God doesn't promise you that you won't spend a few anxious nights,  fearing for your life, dwelling on your failures, alone in a cave.

He says He'll be in the cave with you.  You are alone..
   in a cave..
      with God.

Alone in a cave with your Creator.  The Creator of the whole universe.  The Master of Everything.  The Holy God, Yahweh....

Wow.  That should actually be a lot more scary than whatever you are going through, come to think of it.

Why "scary"? The first thing God says when he talks to someone is usually along the lines of "don't be afraid"

If God if for me, who can be against me?!

I kinda feel there's a dare in that last sentence. :-)

  3. If God's physical presence in a confined space isn't scary, then why does he always need to tell people not to be afraid when they meet him? If God's physical presence and power isn't scary and overpowering, then we still need to be afraid of those who are against us.

God is not a fluffy bunny friend. He is God.
